Phil Mickelson has strongly denied recent allegations of inappropriate behavior toward women after Skratch Golf published a report accusing the six-time major champion of misconduct.

The investigation enacted by Skratch Golf’s Alan Shipnuck claimed the 56-year-old had been barred from three California golf clubs following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving women and included claims from Ashley Perez, the ex-wife of PGA TOUR golfer Pat Perez.

The report claims that Mickelson revealed an inappropriate image of himself and propositioned her in 2015.

These allegations come following last month’s report from Golf Digest who claimed Mickelson had had his membership at The Farms Golf Club in San Diego revoked due to allegations of “nonconsensual and inappropriate physical contact”, accusations Mickelson has denied.

Representatives speaking on behalf of Mickelson delivered a statement to the New York Post in response labelling the allegations as an “anonymously sourced drive-by shooting” seeking to make “a compelling, click-bait narrative over an accurate one.”

“Mr. Mickelson’s willingness to apologize for his conduct should not be misconstrued as an admission of every allegation made against him,” the statement said.

Mr. Mickelson has never been expelled from a golf club,” the statement added. “His membership has never been revoked by a golf club.”

It also questioned Skratch Golf’s reporting noting the outlets previous affiliation with the PGA TOUR, which Mickelson defected from in 2022 to join LIV Golf, becoming one of the first high-profile players to make the switch.

“Credibility is not earned by publishing the most provocative narrative,” the statement went onto say. “It is earned through transparency, verification, and a clear distinction between fact, inference, and speculation.”

Skratch Golf‘s editor-in-chief, Ben Boskovich, has defended the investigation saying he “stands by its reporting.”

Mickelson, who played a leading role in recruiting players to LIV Golf, has made just one appearance on the circuit this year due to a serious family health issue that has not been publicly detailed.
