U.S. captain Angela Stanford has named her three captain’s picks to complete her squad for the upcoming Solheim Cup next month.
Following the conclusion of the CPKC Women’s Open, Andrea Lee and Alison Lee sealed the last two qualifying spots via the Rolex Women’s World Rankings. The previous seven players to have already solidified their spots via the Solheim Cup points list are Nelly Korda, Angel Yin, Jennifer Kupcho, Yealimi Not, Auston Kim, Lauren Coughlin, and Allisen Corpuz.
To finalize Team USA, live on The Golf Channel Stanford selected Megan Khang, Rose Zhang, and Lindy Duncan. Khang will be making her fifth Solheim Cup appearance, while Zhang will be making her third and Duncan her first.
“It’s been so much fun,” Stanford told The Golf Channel when described the process of picking her team.
“Of course, we had our tough times, and it’s about getting down to the moment that we have to tell people they did not make it. But we expected that, and I absolutely love the 12 players we have.
“We are ready to get to the Netherlands and represent the Red, White & Blue.”
Europe captain Anna Nordqvist revealed her wildcard picks earlier this month selecting England pair Leona Maguire and Mimi Rhodes, Spain’s Julia Lopez Ramirez, and France’s Nastasia Nadaud.
The Solheim Cup will take place between 11-13 September at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands.
