Linn Grant clinched a maiden LPGA Tour victory with a three-shot triumph at the Dana Open at Highland Meadows Golf Club.
The 24-year-old Swede began the final day with a six shot lead at the top of the leaderboard thanks to a dominant showing on Saturday, closing with a third-round nine-under 62, the best score of the week.
On the Sunday, Grant carded a three-under 68 to win the tournament on 21 under, three shots clear of U.S. Women’s Open champion Allisen Corpuz who ended the tournament by posting a solid bogey-free six-under 65 closing on 18 under.
“I’ve been thinking about it [a first LPGA Tour win] all day,” Grant said. “I think I’ve imagined this day so many times in so many ways in my own mind.
“Just being here now, I’m so speechless. At the same time, I feel familiar with the setting for some reason. It’s just so fun.”
Lindy Duncan finished third after also posting a Sunday 65 while there was a tied for fourth between Australia’s Stephanie Kyriacou and China’s Lin Xiyu.
The next event on the LPGA Tour is the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational taking place between 19-22 July at the Midland Country Club in Michigan.
