Canada’s Anna Huang secured a wire-to-wire victory to collect her first Ladies European Tour title at the 2025 La Sella Open at just sixteen years old.
She achieved victory with a score of 20 under for the week, after carding impressive rounds of 64-66-69-69 to become the youngest LET winner in 2025.
On Sunday at La Sella Golf Resort, Huang’s first birdie came at the third. She followed it with a string of even pars before closing out the front nine with another birdie. France’s Nastasia Nadaud put a bit of pressure on the rookie early on with two opening birdies, but she dropped a shot at the eighth and further shots at the 11th and 12th to set her further back.
Huang steadied herself to make up for her only two bogeys at the 13th and 15th with follow-up birdies at the 14th and 16th but finished in style with another birdie at the last to close out her seven-shot triumph.
“Honestly, I’m really shocked right now! I can’t believe I just won,” said the teen. “It’s really crazy. I was really focused on the present and the moment, so the scores weren’t really a distraction to me. I was realised focused on hitting each shot to what I could do.
“Being in the final group showed me that I had to stick with the same game plan and not play too conservatively because what I was doing the past few days was working really well, so I kept that up.”
Huang went on to say how special her first LET win was with her father by her side.
“It’s super special to have my dad on the bag. He has caddied for me ever since I started playing golf and it’s super special. Being able to win this at 16 is so insane. I never believed this would ever happen, but I’m so proud of myself. I love when people send me text messages, I’m really excited to reply to all of them.
“At the beginning of the season, I didn’t even have a full card so to win is absolutely insane. I remember I was a reserve for Wistron Ladies Open and Aramco China Championship, but after this, I think I’m good.”
Nadaud finished in second on 13 under, whilst Australia’s Maddison Hinson-Tolchard finished a shot adrift on 12 under to complete the top three.
What is the next event?
The nest event on the Ladies European Tour schedule is the Lacoste Ladies Open de France taking place between 25-27 September at Golf Barriere Deauville in France.
