Kultida Woods, mother and greatest supporter of her son Tiger Woods has died aged 80.

Woods shared the news of her passing on Tuesday on social media, expressing his grief and love for the woman he credits all his personal achievements to.

“It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning,” Woods wrote. “My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible. She was loved by so many,  but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie. Thank you all for your support, prayers and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family. Love you Mom.”

Kultida, commonly-recognized as Tida, made her last public appearance last week at her son’s TGL event in Florida, a final testament to her dedication and support of Tiger throughout his career. Originally from Thailand, Kultida was a receptionist when she met Tiger Woods’ late father Earl Woods at the U.S Army’s Bangkok office. They married in 1969 after moving to the U.S., and for 37 years until Woods Senior died of cancer in 2006.
