Bryson DeChambeau has provided a major update on his LIV Golf future by revealing he remains committed to the breakaway league amid speculation of the financial future of the circuit.

The two-time major winner switched to LIV Golf in June 2022 becoming one of the earliest high-profile names to make the move in a deal believed to be worth over $125m.

That initial contract is due to expire at the end of the season and with the uncertainty over the future of LIV Golf after The Financial Times recently reported that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) stood on the verge of cutting financial support for the circuit, questions grew about the direction DeChambeau would take once the contract expired.

Reports have suggested the Crushers GC captain, who is one of the biggest names in professional golf thanks to his significant social media presence, is demanding a new deal worth $500m however, DeChambeau has addressed those rumors stating he is confident that negotiations will lead to a resolution.

Speaking to Flushing It Golf, DeChambeau said: “As long as LIV is here, I would figure out a way for it to make sense.

“We’re still working on a potential contract. I haven’t given up on that and I think there will be a solution. But as of right now, my job is to help make the league work after this year.

“I just feel like I have a responsibility. I’ve put a lot of effort into it. So that’s what I’m going to do – we’re going to make this work.

“It’s a start-up, right? And so there’s going to be times where we’re squeezed and punched. This is one of those moments.

“But I’m going to do everything in my power to make it work and I really see the value in franchise golf.”

DeChambeau has claimed two individual victories so far this LIV Golf season, winning back-to-back in Singapore and South Africa.
