The venue for the 2031 Ryder Cup has been confirmed to take place at Camiral Resort in Girona, Spain.

This marks the second time Spain will host the prestigious biennial tournament, following the 1997 edition at Valderrama, where Seve Ballesteros captained Team Europe to a narrow 14½–13½ victory over Team USA.

Camiral will become just the fourth venue in continental Europe to stage the Ryder Cup, joining Le Golf National in Paris (2018), Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome (2023), and Valderrama.

The upcoming editions of the Ryder Cup will be held at Bethpage Black in New York (2025), Adare Manor in Ireland (2027), and Hazeltine National in Minnesota (2029), with Camiral now confirmed for 2031.

Guy Kinnings, chief executive of the European Tour Group, said: “Today’s announcement not only recognises Camiral as one of Europe’s leading venues, but also the considerable contribution Spanish golf has made to the proud history of the Ryder Cup.

“The Ryder Cup has grown significantly since Spain last hosted it in 1997. It is one of the world’s leading sporting events, which brings significant economic benefits and global exposure to a host region and country, so we could not be happier to be taking it to Costa Brava and Barcelona for the first time, and to Spain for the second time.”

Camiral’s Stadium Course has a strong pedigree, having hosted multiple DP World Tour events, including the Spanish Open.

Team Europe, the current holders of the Ryder Cup, will aim to defend their title this September at Bethpage Black.
