Harry Hall sealed a first PGA TOUR triumph of his career after coming out on top of a five-man play-off at the ISCO Championship in Kentucky.
The 26-year-old Englishman entered the play-off with American trio Pierceson Coody, Matt NeSmith, Zac Blair, and Philippines’ Rico Hoey after they all finished at 22 under par at Keene Trace Golf Club.
Taking place at the 18th, the first play-off hole saw NeSmith miss a chance to claim the title after failing to putt a birdie attempt, while Blair and Hoey put themselves out of contention after both sunk bogeys.
A second trip down to the same hole saw the remaining three all miss birdie attempts but it was Hall who eventually came up trumps after he skillfully chipped in for a birdie at the third play-off hole, a feat NeSmith and Coody could not match securing victory and the $720,000 prize for the Englishman.
The victory comes just days before his wife Jordan is expected to give birth to their first child.
“Due date’s Friday. She’s scheduled to induce on Tuesday just because I was at a point in the FedEx Cup where I kind of needed to play more,” he said.
“She’s a star and, hopefully, she can do whatever she wants now. I might not play next week. I probably won’t.”
Prior to this win, Hall had only managed a single top 25 finish in 18 starts this season.
What is the next event?
The next event on the PGA TOUR schedule is The 152nd Open Championship taking place between 18-21 July at Royal Troon Golf Club.
