Jon Rahm has not been included in the list of members of the DP World Tour to have been granted conditional release to take part in LIV Golf events this season.

The former world no. 1 and two-time major champion was fined for participating in LIV Golf events having previously competed in events on the Saudi-backed circuit without permission whilst he was still a DP World Tour member.

Tyrrell Hatton, Laurie Canter, Thomas Detry, Tom McKibbin, Adrian Meronk, Victor Perez, David Puig, and Elvis Smylie are the eight players to have been given permission to play on both circuits following prolonged talks.

The players will have to accept strict conditions such as pay any outstanding fines, withdraw all pending appeals, and increase participation and media activity.

“The conditions these members have accepted will provide additional value to the DP World Tour and benefit to the entire membership,” the circuit said in a statement. “Provided each member satisfies the conditions of their individual releases, no disciplinary action under the Regulations will be taken against them for playing in conflicting tournaments on LIV Golf in 2026 and they will retain their membership status.

The releases apply for the 2026 season only and they are not precedent-setting. Requests for releases will continue to be considered on their individual merits in accordance with the Regulations that all members agree to abide by.”

Rahm publicly stated that he has “no intention” of paying the reported $3m in penalties he has accumulated and has appealed the sanctions.

The dispute leaves his future as a Ryder Cup participant for Team Europe in major doubt. If the Spaniard loses his DP World Tour card, he will not be eligible for selection for the next edition of the biennial contest in Adare Manor in 2027.
