Rory McIlroy has joined Tiger Woods as the only two players who have collect over $100m in career prize money on the PGA TOUR following his T5 finish in last weekend’s Texas Children’s Houston Open.
The four-time major champion, who only needed to seal at least a T32 finish, earned $338,000 at the PGA TOUR’s latest event in Texas, pushing his career earnings past the $100 million mark, with the current official total standing at $100,046,906. He is only second to 49-year-old Woods who has amassed 82 PGA TOUR wins in the 378 events he has taken part in, collecting $120,999,166 in prize money along the way.
Since making his debut appearance on the PGA TOUR in the 2009 Buick Invitational (now recognised as the Farmers Insurance Open), the Northern Irishman has taken part in 262 events and achieved 28 wins.
McIlroy has been in fine form in the start of 2025 with victories in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February and THE PLAYERS Championship in March which earned him $3,600,000 and $4.5million respectively and he will aim to secure more money in the bank as he seeks to end his long-awaited major drought with the Masters returning in April.
Third on the all-time money list is Phil Mickelson with $97m but due to his defection to the Saudi-backed LIV Golf circuit, the American has been unable to bump his PGA TOUR earnings up since 2022. It is the same story for fourth on the list Dustin Johnson who sits on $76m in earnings. Due to their defections, both players have been removed from the official list. Current World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler rounds off the top 5 in fifth position on the list with $75m.
