The Elfego Baca Shootout, New Mexico

At nearly 7,000 feet above sea level, the Elfego Baca Shootout in Socorro is a unique shooting game. It’s a novelty, but it’s also a test of ability and precision (and occasionally pure chance). The ultimate test is a 50-foot area that’s not only three miles from Socorro Peak, from where you will swing, but also more than 2,000 feet downward. It sounds difficult, and it is, as no one has yet to achieve a one-shot victory.

Cape Kidnappers Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand (Hole 15)

The rugged and natural environs of Cape Kidnappers might feel far from groomed, yet being quite well kept. The Par 71 course, extends over 6,500 metres and provides a terrific challenge for all golfers. The Pirate’s Plank – the 15th hole on this fantastic course, is one to keep an eye out for. Be cautious of the 140-meter cliff drop on your left and the deep cavern on your right.
