It turns out there’s quite a bit going on in Turkey in terms of golf, according to Karen Fedorko Sefer, the President of Sea Song Tours and Debbie Fairvalley, Travel Advisor Brownell Travel. Here’s a quick look at golfing in Turkey.
“Belek, an area outside of Antalya is great for golf,” wrote Karen. “The Kempinski Hotel—the Dome and Gloria Golf Resort are both located there. The Kempinski Hotel—The Dome has two courses. The PGA Sultan Course, an 18-hole championship course, has a European-style design. The second is The Pasha Course, another 18-hole course. The Gloria Golf Club at the Gloria Resort also has two great courses and a golf academy. It is home to the only 45-hole golf course in the Turkish Riviera and was the TUI Holly winner for 2012.
Another notable course in Belek is the Cornelia Diamond and Golf Resort—it was voted one of Europe’s top 100 courses in 2009.
“The area she refers to is on the sea,” Debbie added. “It is where Paul the Apostle comes from. There are lots of ruins in this area. It’s a bit out of the way for normal tourism and is located between Bodrum and Cappadochia along a beautiful coastline, but there’s not much here other than the golf courses Karen mentions. There are no five-star properties in this area.”
