Las Colinas has received a nomination for Spain’s Best Golf Course.
Las Colinas Golf & Country Club has once again been nominated for the Spain’s Best Golf Course award raising hopes for victory in the prestigious World Golf Awards. The 330-hectare resort could scoop its third win in three years at the golf awards ceremony due to be held later this year. The Spanish resort previously won in the 2015 and 2016 ceremonies, both hosted at the five star Conrad Algarve hotel.
Their win would be made doubly impressive as this year they stand against 22 other respected Spanish golf clubs located in Spain, Majorca and the Canary Islands. Nevertheless, the club feels optimistic to win the title of best Spanish golf course yet again due to their immaculate course and versatile holes suitable for a range of players.
Located in the Mediterranean woodland south of Alicante, the club strives to uphold its world-renowned standard with its well-maintained grounds and luxury accommodation. Las Colinas Golf & Country Club hopes that this will help to woo the public vote as they attempt to hold their place as a top-ranking Spanish resort.
The Spain’s Best Golf Course category is judged on a wide range of criteria including course layout, front-of-house service and course conditioning. Las Colinas’ par-71 layout was designed by American Cabell B. Robinson, who has designed six other golf courses in Spain as well as several others across Europe.
Managing Director of Las Colinas, Cristóbal Guerrero, commented: “We are delighted once again to have been nominated in the category of Spain’s Best Golf Course. Our dedicated team put an incredible amount of time into their roles to ensure standards are maintained at a world class level. We would also like to thank Troon for their ongoing support and assistance.”
The World Golf Awards “serves to celebrate and reward excellence in golf tourism, world-class courses and golf destinations.”
This year the awards ceremony will be held in Las Colinas’ home country at the Spanish La Manga Club from November 23 until 26. The Spanish La Manga Club is also up for an award in the same category.
In addition to the golfing title, Las Colinas Golf & Country Club is also in the running for a hat-trick of wins as Spain’s Leading Villa Resort in the World Travel Awards after having won in 2015 and 2016.
