Sami Valimaki earned his second DP World Tour triumph after beating Jorge Campillo to claim the Qatar Masters title.
The 25-year-old Finn trailed the 47-year-old Spaniard for the majority of the final day but climbed to the top of the leaderboard thanks to a sublime seven-foot birdie on the 17th.
But the 2020 champion fought back on the 18th with a birdie of his own to force a play-off after both ended the tournament at Doha Golf Club on 18 under.
However, Valimaki held his nerve in the play-off to overcome Campillo and seal his second victory on the DP World Tour.
“Unbelievable. It’s hard to talk. It has been a long journey, it feels great,” said Valimaki.
“The course played quite tight today. I feel like I played nicely, but still a couple of mistakes and you always get punished. The course setup and everything was really nice. The birdie on 17, I thought I had it at 15 and 16, I didn’t make those putts, but luckily I had that one.
“I work so hard. I feel like I’ve earned it a couple of times, but it hasn’t come my way. That’s why it feels so amazing.”
Meanwhile, Scotland’s Scott Jamieson secured his DP World Tour status for next season after carding a final-round 69.
Jamieson, who prior to the event was ranked 119th in the Race to Dubai rankings, required to end within the top 116 to cement his DP World Tour card for next season and did so comfortably after moving up 82nd after his performance in Doha.
The next event on the DP World Tour is the Nedbank Golf Challenge taking place between 9-12 November at the Gary Player Golf Club in South Africa.
