Brandt Snedeker and Geoff Ogilvy have been confirmed as the team captains for the 2026 Presidents Cup in Medinah.
American Snedeker will lead Team USA on home soil while Australian Ogilvy will spearhead the International team.
The previous edition of the Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada saw previous U.S. skipper Jim Furyk lead the Americans to a 10th consecutive victory over the International team with an 18.5-11.5 triumph in September 2024.
Victory meant that the U.S. continued to assert their dominance on the Presidents Cup winning for the 13th occasion since the inception of the team event in 1994. The International Team have only tasted success once back in 1998 and have failed to repeat the feat.
Snedeker was the No. 2 to Furyk in their victory last September and has also previously been part of the U.S. team in 2013.
“It’s a tremendous honour to be named US team captain for the 2026 Presidents Cup by my peers, and I’m looking forward to leading our guys into Medinah for what will certainly be an amazing week of golf,” said Snedeker.
“Representing my country in team competition has been a highlight of my PGA Tour career, and I will lean on those experiences to ensure we are prepared and ready to compete against what I know will be a unified and determined International Team.”
Ogilvy has also previously taken part in the Presidents Cup making appearances as a player for the International team in three consecutive editions (2007, 2009, and 2011) and has been assistant captain in the past four editions.
“Since Ernie Els debuted the shield in 2019, the International Team’s spirit has intensified and grown as we have rallied around this symbol, which embodies our shared ambition and unifies both players and fans,” said Ogilvy.
“I intend to carry that momentum forward, just as the captains before me have, to build strong support for our international players in the lead up and throughout the event.”
The Presidents Cup will take place between 22-27 September, 2026 at Medinah Country Club.
