TGL are in discussions to expand the high-tech golf league for next season, which could include the introduction of a women’s league starring LPGA Tour players.
Speaking at the CAA World Congress of Sports meeting in Nashville, Mike McCarley, CEO of TMRW Sports, also co-founded by golf icons Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, stated that conversations about expansion had already begun with various potential franchises expressing their interest in getting involved.
He affirmed that the idea for the first few steps would be to “start with one [new team] and then it’ll grow from there.”
He also revealed there have been talks regarding incorporating a women’s golf league. Alexis Ohanian, owner of the LA Golf Club franchise and husband of former tennis player Serena Williams, was also present at the meeting and expressed strong interest in the proposition, disclosing that talks over a potential deal with the LPGA had already commenced.
“I’ve been bugging these guys about the LPGA deal for a minute,” Ohanian said. “They have been very interested. It’s just these things take time.”
“There’s no secret we’re working on that,” McCarley added. “Alexis has been a great thought leader for us on that, and I think most of our team owners are right behind them in that area, too.”
The inaugural edition of the golf league saw Atlanta Drive GC take home the SoFi Cup after defeating New York Golf Club 4-3 in the second match of the best-of-three Finals Series.
The dates for the 2026 TGL season have yet to be confirmed.
