David Ravetto Earns Maiden DP World Tour Triumph at Czech Masters

David Ravetto claimed a first career DP World Tour win thanks to a dominant final-round display at the D+D REAL Czech Masters.

The 27-year-old Frenchman, who took part in his 49th DP World Tour event, entered the final day a shot behind then leader Jesper Svensson of Sweden. But produced an early surge of six birdies on the front nine that helped flip a one-shot deficit to a three-shot lead. He went onto post an impressive eight-under 64 to seal four-shot victory at PGA National OAKS Prague.

He said: “I felt good all week, we had a strategy to just go and have fun and it worked well. Of course I had some pressure, I had shaky hands, but that’s what you practise for.

“Walking up the 18th after driving the middle of the fairway was a lot of emotion, I almost cracked and started crying on the fairway. When I saw my caddie and my girlfriend I couldn’t hold it in any more.

“I’m sure we’ll celebrate nicely – French guys, we know how to do it! There’s probably got to be something here tonight in Prague and maybe in Paris next week.”

This win means that he has become the first Frenchman to win on the circuit since Matthieu Pavon at the 2023 acciona Open de Espana presented by Madrid.

Ravetto now moves up to third on the Closing Swing rankings with only one event remaining and also jumps 73 places to 30th on the Race to Dubai rankings.

Svensson was unable to keep up with Ravetto and had to settle with a second-place finish on 19 under, while there was a three-way tie for third which featured Ravetto’s french compatriots Adrien Saddier and Frederic Lacroix and Scotland’s Richie Ramsay.

What is the next event?

The next event on the DP World Tour is the Danish Golf Championship taking place between 22-25 August at Lubker Golf Resort in Denmark.
