Frederic LaCroix Collects Maiden DP World Tour Title at Danish Golf Championship

Frederic LaCroix claimed his first career triumph on the DP world Tour thanks to a handsome four-shot victory at the Danish Golf Championship.

The 29-year-old Frenchman delivered an impressive performance in the final round at Lübker Golf Resort, overcoming a four-shot deficit to post a bogey-free 65 and finish the tournament at 14 under, securing the first title of his career and making it consecutive victories for French players on the tour following David Ravetto’s triumph at the Czech Masters last week.

“It’s hard to realise yet, it will come a bit later,” said Lacroix.

“I was just happy to finish my round. I had a good round, bogey-free today. So I’m very happy with how I did today.

“I’ve been close a few times, especially this year. I’ve just been improving the past few years, slowly but steadily. I just kept doing my thing and it’s nice to see it come together with the win today.

“It’s more seeing my friend David (Ravetto) win last week. It shows that it’s possible, it’s more than doable. I’m just lost for words now.”

Home favorite Lucas Bjerregaard, who was the overnight leader, fell away during the final day due to consecutive bogeys, a double bogey and a penalty drop ending his hopes of securing a first triumph on the DP World Tour in six years, finishing the tournament tied for second alongside France’s Romain Langasque on 10 under.

Ravatto’s four-under 67 elevated him to fourth place, while England’s Joe Dean moved into a five-way tie for fifth which also featured Denmark’s Jacob Skov Olesen, Portugal’s Pedro Figueiredo, Sweden’s Christofer Blomstrand, and France’s Adrien Saddier.

What is the next event?

The next event on the DP World Tour schedule is the British Masters taking place between Aug 29 – Sept 1 at The Belfrey Golf Course in England.
