Hannah Green wins the JM Eagle LA Championship for the second consecutive year thanks a three-shot victory at the Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles.
The 27-year-old Australian hit a five-under 66 in the final round, including a crucial stretch on the back-nine to become the first player on the LPGA Tour to defend her title in 2024.
This is Green’s fifth triumph on the LPGA Tour and second of the year following her victory at the Women’s World Championship in February.
“It wasn’t as a eventful as the last couple days. I was nervous,” Green said. “And I’ve never been able to win having a lead into the last hole like that, so it is nice to be able to get it done earlier in the round.
“It’s really kind to me,” Green said about the course. “I felt like a couple times today almost got like a member bounce. I, obviously, really am fond of the golf club and joked that they didn’t approve it with me that they were making alterations. I love it here.”
Sweden’s Maja Stark hit a 68 in the final round to finish runners-up for the second week in a row while South Korea’s Haeran Rye took third.
Nelly Korda, who had claimed a record-equalling five straight victories on the LPGA Tour last week at the Chevron Championship, withdrew from the tournament earlier in the week.
LPGA 2024 schedule
The next event on the LPGA Tour schedule is the Cognizant Founder Cup taking place between 9-12 May at Upper Montclair Country Club in New Jersey.
