Welcome to Essential Golf tutorials. Professional golfers Michael Jacobs and Erika Larkin give you some top tips on judging your distance. These tips will be beneficial for golfers of all skill levels.

It’s a game of intense distance and direction, so being off by a yard or two can make all the difference. There are a few ways that can help you get better at judging your distance, these include: a yarders marker—indicated by poles or bushes—tells you how close you are for to the center of the green. There are also hand laser range finders which can tell you how far away that pin is from you.

Remember: setting your club before you set your body normally improves your performance and helps you avoid poor aim.

Picking the right club is important when factoring in your distance. There’s normally about a ten yard gap between each club selection, so consider all the options detailed in this tutorial. Don’t forget to think about the wind as well as that can have a significant effect on your distance.
