Lilia Vu sealed her fourth victory on the LPGA Tour this season with a confident three-shot triumph at The Annika driven by Gainbridge in Florida.

Vu began the final round with a three-shot deficit behind then leader Emily Kristine Pedersen, but the two-time major winner quality shone through carding a final-round 66 to end the tournament on 19 under.

This win adds to her catalogue of victories this year including in the Honda LPGA Thailand, the Chevron Championship, and the AIG Women’s Open.

This victory also means that the American has increased her chances of becoming the LPGA Tour player of the year. Following this win, she now sits 27 points ahead of France’s Celine Boutier in the points-based race with only the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship remaining.

“I think like each win of mine has had its own battle, and I think today was again myself,” Vu said. “The wheels were kind of falling off a little bit on the back nine. Then [caddie Cole Pensanti] just said, ‘hey, just play your game and one shot at a time and we can make any putt from anywhere’, so just kept that positive mindset up.”

America’s Alison Lee and Spain’s Azahara Munoz both carded final round 67s to tie for second on 16 under while South Korea’s Amy Yang finished one stroke behind in fourth. Overnight leader Pedersen dropped down to fifth after a disappointing four-over 74 on the final day sharing the spot with Australia’s Stephanie Kyriacou.

The LPGA Tour season ends with the CME Group Tour Championship taking place between 16-19 November at Tiburon Golf Club in Florida.
