LPGA Tour’s Top Ten Players of 2022

LPGA's Top Ten Players of 2022

Although golf is a male-dominated career, some women still swing the club like their lives depend on it and proceed to achieve significant success on the course. The LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour is an excellent all-female tournament where worldwide stars compete for lucrative prizes. The tour might not get much publicity like its male equivalent, but top female golfers here also earn millions of dollars from the game and enjoy the lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Below we look at the Top 10 LPGA Players:

Lydia Ko

At 25 years of age, Lydia Ko has broken many records and achieved the immense success that most of her peers only imagine. In February 2015, aged 17, Lydia became the No. 1-ranked woman professional golfer in the world, making her the youngest player of either gender to achieve that fete. The star has enjoyed a history-making streak on the LPGA Tour, and her 2022 wins include the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio in January 2022.

Charley Hull

English professional golfer Charley Hull started stunning golf fans and winning from a tender age, becoming a European circuit champion in 2014, even before she clocked 18. In 2016, Hull won the much-coveted CME Group Tour Championship. Since then, the golfer has enjoyed significant success on the LPGA and the Ladies European Tour.

Lexi Thompson

Superstars emerge at a young age. American professional golfer Lexi Thompson was only twelve when she qualified to participate in the U.S. Women’s Open, making her the youngest golfer ever to do so. Lexi turned pro aged 15 and soon set a new record as the youngest-ever winner of an LPGA tournament when she won the Navistar LPGA Classic aged 16. The star has been making history since and scooped her first major championship, aged 19 years, at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2014.

Nelly Korda

Nelly Korda perfectly demonstrates the power of genes, seeing that she is the daughter of Petr Korda, a Grand Slam tennis winner. Instead of following the tennis path, Nelly chose golf and has already ranked as the No. 1 professional woman golfer worldwide. The star boasts at least seven trophies, including the 2021’s Women’s PGA Championship.

Jin Young Ko

South Korean golfer Jin Young Ko is one of the most promising talents in the sport. Young was crowned the LPGA Golfer of the Year for two years in a row (2019, 2020) and also led as the money winner in both years, stretching the money streak to even 2021. With 12 LPGA tournament wins on her belt, Young is one of the tour’s best talents.
