March 2022 sees a packed international golf events calendar, kicking off with the Arnold Palmer Invitational on the 3rd.
In 2021 it was no surprise when Bryson DeChambeau emerged as the winner – he arrived as the reigning U.S. Open champion and the hottest player on the PGA TOUR, but also had a short but impressive history on the Bay Hill course. Following his best-ever showing by an amateur – tied 27th – in 2016 in his first start as U.S. Amateur champion, he posted second and fourth-place finishes in his subsequent three pro appearances before sealing his one-stroke victory in 2021.
Other highlights of the month to look forward to include the Valspar Championship on the 17th, which has a prize purse of $7.8m, and the Joburg Ladies Open on the 24th, with its venue now confirmed as the Modderfontein Golf Club, making its debut on the Ladies European Tour as a co-sanctioned event.
