2025 Masters winner Rory McIlroy has revealed the details of his menu for the traditional Masters Champions Dinner.
The Northern Irishman ended his long wait for The Masters title and career Grand Slam in dramatic style when he defeated England’s Justin Rose in a play-off at Augusta National last April.
As a result, the 36-year-old will continue the tradition of the reigning champion designing the menu and hosting the exclusive dinner for other past champions which takes place in the Augusta Clubhouse on the Tuesday evening prior to the beginning of the tournament.
Previously, the likes of Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler, and Phil Mickelson have created menus in a tradition which dates back to 1952 when Ben Hogan first put forward the idea.
For appetisers, McIlroy has opted for four options:
- Peach & Ricotta Flatbread
- Bacon-Wrapped Dates
- Rock Shrimp Tempura
- Grilled Elk Sliders
Served for the first course will be a Yellowfin Tuna Carpaccio with Foie Gras, a Toasted Baguette and Chives.
The main course will be a choice between:
- Wagyu Filet Mignon
- Seared Salmon
And to conclude the meal, for dessert will be a Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Four different wines will also feature throughout the dinner:
- 2015 Salon Brut champagne
- 2022 Domaine Leflaive Batard Montrachet
- 1990 Chateau Lafite Rothschild
- 1989 Chateau D’Yquem dessert wine
McIlroy depicted his choices as being “from the heart and from personal experience, and I guess a little bit of nostalgia for me of what I wanted to serve.”
“Yeah, I mean, I think it would be pretty presumptuous to have a menu in your head before you actually win the tournament,” McIlroy said.
“But I always thought about: If I win the Masters one day, what would I want it to look like? What would I like to serve? You know, I didn’t really want to go with a theme or like, you know – hopefully this isn’t my first time hosting dinner.
“I felt this time around, I wanted to do something that I would enjoy but I wanted to do something that all other champions would enjoy, as well.
“No, it wasn’t put together off the top of my head. I tried to be pretty thoughtful with it. Tried to incorporate some of the things that I like and some, you know, little personal touches along the way. But at the same time, you know, trying to put together a good enough menu that everybody would enjoy, as well.”
McIlroy will look to defend his title at this year’s tournament which will run between 9-12 April.
