Minjee Lee Defeated Alison Lee in a play-off to clinch victory in the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea.
Both the Australian and the American finished level on 16 under after Alison Lee overcame a two-shot deficit with two holes remaining, birdying both the 17th and 18th to close with a five-under 67 and force a play-off at Seowon Valley Country Club.
The play-off took place on the par-four 18th which saw Minjee Lee prevail over Alison Lee to seal her tenth LPGA Tour title and second in three starts.
“Out of all the places, Korea was always at the top of my list because my parents are Korean and I have a heritage to Korea,” Minjee Lee said. “This one is special, and especially having all of my family and extended family and friends coming out to cheer for me today.
“Obviously it was great to see Min Woo win. I follow him every single event. I I’d never say it to his face, but he plays really well and I’m always really proud of him. Sure, it was a little motivation, and I knew I was coming in with pretty good form coming off last week.”
Last years winner Lydia Ko ended the tournament two-shot behind the leaders in third after hitting a final round 69 while LPGA Shanghai champion Angel Yin followed up from her maiden victory last week by claiming fourth.
The next event on the LPGA Tour is the LPGA Maybank Championship taking place between 26-29 October at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club in Malaysia.
