Course Insight
Oak Hill’s East Course was designed by Donald Ross, opening in 1925. Through the years, it was modified by Robert Trent Jones and George and Tom Fazio. In 2019, a restoration by Andrew Green brought back original Ross characteristics. The course has hosted three PGA Championships and three U.S. Opens.
Notable Course Features
Two new holes, the par-3 fifth and par-4 sixth, were built in the 2019 restoration in the style of holes on the Ross original that had been eliminated. Also, a pond installed on the par-3 15th in the 1970s was removed. On other holes, the original dimensions of Ross greens were restored, bunkers renovated and trees removed.
