The PGA TOUR have revealed the nominees for the Player of the Year Award also known as the Jack Nicklaus Award.
The four players nominated are Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, and Ben Griffin.
The Player of the Year Award is determined by a member vote, with those who took part in at least 15 events on the 2025 schedule eligible to case their vote.
Scheffler won the award last year and has once again put himself in the running with another year glittered with success. The American took the title in six events including the PGA Championship and the Open Championship and failed to finish within the top 10 in only three of his 20 appearances, making the cut in every event. He also finished the season as World No. 1 and came 4th in the FedExCup.
Fellow American Griffin has been nominated for the award for the first time after a breakout campaign. This season the 29-year-old claimed wins at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the Charles Schwab Challenge, and the World Wide Technology Championship. He ended the year sitting No. 9 in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and finished in a tie for 10th in the FedExCup.
Another first-time nominee is Fleetwood who earned a long-awaited maiden victory on the PGA TOUR at the season-concluding TOUR Championship which helped him claim the 2025 FedExCup title. He also made the cut in 18 of his 19 appearances this season and reached No. 4 in the OWGR.
Rory McIlroy is the fourth and final nominee thanks to a record-breaking year. The Northern Irishman secured three victories in 2025 but the most eye-catching and memorable came at the Masters which saw him join an illustrious list of golfers to have achieved the grand slam. He failed to make the cut in only one of his 16 appearances and finished the year No. 2 in the OWGR.
Voting opens on December 4 and closes on December 12 with the winner revealed at a later date.
The circuit have also unveiled the shortlist for the 2025 Rookie of the Year including Michael Brennan, Steven Fisk, William Mouw, Aldrich Potgieter, and Karl Vilips.
