Nelly Korda earned a third successive victory on the LPGA Tour thanks to a two-shot victory in the Ford Championship in Arizona.
The World No. 1, who had already claimed victories in the LPGA Drive On Championship and the Seri Pak Championship in 2024, began the final day at Seville Golf and Country Club with a two-shot deficit but carded a bogey-free 7-under 65 to end the tournament on 20 under and claim a third straight win and 11th on the LPGA Tour.
“I think it was definitely one of my least stressful wins,” said Korda. “I just played really solid golf. Didn’t make really too many mistakes, and if I did I just had a chip, kind of straightforward chip.
“Overall capitalised on the majority of my really good shots out there and made some good putts as well. So overall, just very, very pleased with how I played in the tough conditions.
“(It) just honestly feels like a blur. Taking it day by day, really trying to stay very present and just played really good golf, solid golf in tough conditions, which I’m very happy about.”
The 25-year-old American became the first player to win in three straight starts since Ariya Jutanugarn in 2016.
Australian rookie Hira Naveed finished second on 18 under after hitting a 66 while there was a five-way tie for third that featured European Solheim Cup teammates Carlota Ciganda of Spain and Sweden’s Maya Stark as well as South Korea’s Mi Hyang Lee, Sweden’s Frida Kinhult, and American Lexi Thompson.
The next event on the LPGA Tour schedule is T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards taking place between 3-7 April at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.
