- Develop a Putting Routine
We touched on the importance of putting in number 7, but let’s take it a step further.
It’s entirely normal for players of all standards to get a rush of nerves when they get close to the hole. Soften those nerves slightly by finding either a practice swing pattern, a breathing technique or a form of shot visualization that works for you, and stick to it every time.
It’s always worth remembering the age-old adage, ‘Driving for show, putting for dough.’

- Get a Better Understanding of Your Physical Capabilities
You will make better progress on your swing once you know exactly what your body is capable of doing.
Once you have made a realistic assessment of your body’s limitations, you have the choice to either work within them or work on them. Either way, this will benefit your game. Trying to imitate the swing of a tour player will very rarely be good for your game.
Build your swing based on your body, and you will start to play better golf.
